BUSINESS STRATEGY & PLANNING | PERTH | AUSTRALIA-WIDE

You don't need another plan. You need one that gets run.

Most business plans fail for a boring reason. They get written, everyone nods, and then they sit in a folder while the business keeps running exactly like it did before. Simkul Solutions builds strategy that survives a normal busy week, not just a nice presentation.

We're not a consultancy that hands you a report and disappears. We're the people who stay and get it done with you.

30 minutes. No obligation. We'll tell you if we're not the right fit.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOUR BUSINESS?

Every one of these has a fixable root cause. They just need someone to look at the whole picture, not just the symptom.

  • "We say we want to grow, but nobody can tell me what we'd stop doing to make room for it."

Growth plans that don't account for capacity are wish lists with a nice font. We build the trade-offs in from the start.

  • "I've written a strategy before. It's in a folder somewhere."

Most plans die because nobody was around to help run them once the excitement wore off. That's the part we don't skip.

  • "I know where I want the business in five years. I've got no idea what year one looks like."

Vision is the easy part. We work backwards from it: what has to happen this quarter for that five-year picture to be real.

  • "Every time we make a plan, something urgent comes along and it gets shelved."

Usually that's not about willpower. The plan wasn't built around how the business really runs day to day.

  • "We're busy, but I can't tell if we're getting anywhere."

Busy and growing aren't the same thing. We help you tell the difference, then fix it if they're not.

  • "I don't know if we're ready to grow, or if it would just make the chaos bigger."

Fair question, and worth answering honestly before you commit to anything. That's exactly what the discovery call is for.

WHAT WE DO

Two things most strategy firms treat as separate. We don't.

A lot of strategic planning stops at the document: good in theory, useless in practice, because nobody's there when the plan collides with the day-to-day running of the business. We build the plan, then stay to help you run it.

Strategic assessment and roadmap.

PART ONE

The Plan

We start with where the business is today, not where the last plan said it should be. Real numbers, real capacity, an honest look at what's working and what's just busy. From there we build a roadmap specific enough to act on. Not a slide deck full of ambitions.

Strategic assessment, growth-readiness review, priority roadmap, capacity mapping, quarterly milestones, decision-making framework

PART TWO

Making it real

Ongoing support

Once the plan exists, we don't leave. We help you run the first quarter, adjust when reality doesn't match the plan (it won't, not exactly), and build a review rhythm your team can keep going without us.

Implementation support, quarterly reviews, priority tracking, team accountability structure, plan revisions as the business changes

THE PART MOST STRATEGY FIRMS SKIP

A plan that survives contact with your business, not just your whiteboard.

Most strategic planning stops at delivery. You get a document, a round of applause, and an invoice. What happens in month two is your problem.

We think that's backwards. The plan is the easy 20%. The other 80% is holding the line when a big client blows up your quarter, or a key staff member quits, or the thing you said you'd stop doing turns out to be hard to give up.

So the review cadence is built into the engagement from the start, not sold as an add-on later. Quarterly, sometimes monthly if the business needs it. We compare what happened against what the plan said would happen, and adjust. A plan that can't survive a bad month won't survive a good year either.

We are upfront about who this works for.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

This service works best in specific situations. We'd rather you know before the discovery call than after.

  • GOOD FIT

    * You've got a growth idea but no clear picture of what year one actually looks like

    * You've written a plan before and it's sitting in a folder somewhere, unused

    * You're growing, but you can't tell if the business is set up to handle more of it

    * You want a plan and someone alongside you to run it, not just a handover document

    * You're willing to look honestly at what's not working, even if it's uncomfortable

  • PROBABLY NOT THE RIGHT FIT

    * You want a report to show a board or investor. We're not a report shop

    * You want coaching to develop your own strategic thinking rather than a plan built and run with you. Different job, different kind of help

    * You're not ready to change how the business runs. A plan that doesn't ask anything of you isn't worth writing

    * You want a templated plan that could apply to any business. Every plan we build is specific to yours

HOW IT WORKS

What the engagement looks like.

Every engagement is different, but this is the typical shape. Timelines vary depending on business size and complexity.

Discovery: understanding where the business stands (week 1–2)

Green circular shape with the number 1 in black

We spend time in your business, talking to your team, watching how work actually flows, and looking at what data you currently have and where it lives. This isn't a surface-level review. We need to see reality, not the version you'd put in a presentation.

Strategic assessment: what's realistic and what's not (week 2–3)

Green circle with the number 2 inside

We map where growth is genuinely available, where the business is constrained, and what would need to change to move. You get a clear, honest picture before any plan gets written.

The plan: specific, not aspirational (week 3–5)

Green circular badge with the number 3 in black.

A prioritised roadmap tied to your actual capacity, not a wish list. Quarterly milestones, clear ownership, and a document your team can follow — not consulting jargon that needs a translator.

Running it with you (week 5 onward)

Number four inside a green circle

We stay in the room for the first quarter, help you hold the line when something urgent tries to derail it, and adjust the plan when reality doesn't match what was on paper.

Review rhythm: yours to keep running (ongoing)

Number five inside a green circle.

We set up a quarterly check-in structure your team can run without us. Some clients keep us on for those sessions. Plenty run it themselves once it's built.

QUESTIONS ABOUT STRATEGY & PLANNING

A few things people usually ask.

How is this different from hiring a business coach?

Coaching helps you develop your own thinking so you can find your own answers. This is different: we build the plan with you using your own numbers, then help you run it. If it turns out coaching is genuinely what you need instead, we'll say so on the call rather than sell you something else.

How much does business strategy consulting cost?

Same as our other consulting work: project-based, retainer, or hourly, scoped after a free discovery call. A strategy engagement for a four-person business looks nothing like one for a forty-person business, so we don't quote until we understand what you need.

How long does a strategy engagement take?

Building the plan itself usually takes three to five weeks. Most clients stay on for at least a full quarter after that, so we can help run it and adjust it against real results rather than handing over a document and disappearing.

Do you write the plan for us, or with us?

With you. We're not interested in producing a generic plan you'll pay for once and never open again. We use your numbers, your team, and your constraints, and you're in the room for the decisions that go into it.

What happens if our business changes halfway through the plan?

It usually does, at least a little. That's why the review cadence is built into the engagement rather than sold separately afterwards. We check the plan against real results and adjust it. A plan that can't take a hit isn't much of a plan.

  • Business Operations & Reporting

A strategy is only as good as the operations underneath it. If the plan's right but the business can't execute, this is where we'd probably start instead.

Growth plans usually mean more capacity, not more hours from you. Offshore hiring is often the fastest way to add it.
